Xinran Liu

Xinran Liu is a Master’s student in Digital Humanities at KU Leuven (2025-2026), currently interning with the RegInfra project. She holds a Master’s degree in Translation and Interpreting from Beijing Foreign Studies University and a Bachelor’s in English (Medical Sciences) from Beijing University of Chinese Medicine.

Before transitioning to digital scholarship, Xinran worked as a full-time professional, managing and coordinating complex international projects, including operational workflows for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics. In the RegInfra project, she combines the organizational background with technical skills to develop automated workflows. She applies computer vision models and OCR tools to identify and segment architectural features in gazetteer maps, bridging historical spatial analysis with digital infrastructures.
