Meret Meister will be completing her MA in History while working for the project ‘Regionalizing Infrastructures in Chinese History’ at KU Leuven. Afterwards, she will be joining the project as a PhD fellow.
She moved to Beijing in 2016 and attended the Chinese language school at Tsinghua University until 2018. In 2022 she received her undergraduate degree in History at the University of Aberdeen, where she was doing research on Chinese objects in the University's Museum collections.
Meret's research focuses on the interactions of historical research and material cultures, as well as on the analysis of visual representations of environment and cartographic images.
