Rainer Simon

Rainer Simon (https://rainersimon.io) is an independent research software engineer and developer. He has been working in the field of information management, software & user interface design for more than 20 years. With a passion for the Digital Humanities and Digital Library fields, he has been collaborating with major GLAM (Galleries, Libraries, Archives, Museums) and academic partners worldwide, specializing in the design of tools that help people explore, analyze, manage and communicate data more easily. Rainer has published extensively on technological issues of digital representation, data modeling and systems design in this domain and, in the past, has served as the Technical Director of Pelagios, an international Digital Humanities linked open data initiative. He is also the maintainer of the Annotorious open source library for image annotation, and the former lead developer of the award-winning Recogito annotation platform.
