Jialong Liu is a PhD candidate studying Chinese history (2015-2022 at Leiden University; 2022-now at KU Leuven). He got his BA and MA degrees from Renmin University of China. His research interest mainly lies in Chinese medieval history, especially the institutional history, political history, and local history of the Tang and Song Dynasties. He has been active in applying digital methods to Chinese history studies. His PhD dissertation studies how public inscriptions intervened in the interactions between the Tang central court and provincial powers.
