Iva Stojević
Iva Stojević studied Archaeology, Indology, and Museology and Heritage Management at the University of Zagreb, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences (M.A. level). She spent several years working as an associate of the Department for Underwater Archaeology in Zagreb, participating in numerous projects as an archaeologist, documentarist, diver, and translator. In 2015 she moved to Xi'an, where she conducted her PhD research at the School of Cultural Heritage of North West University, under the guidance of Prof. Liu Junmin. Her research focused on the feasibility of community-lead archaeological projects in China. She defended her thesis titled An Investigation and Discussion on Developing Community Archaeology in China: Three Case Studies in Shaanxi province in 2019.
Her subsequent research included both projects on Chinese history at The Lyon Institute of East Asian Studies at the ENS de Lyon, and community archaeology in Croatia, where she is working for the project Heritage from Below | Drežnica: Traces and Memories 1941-1945 as the site director. She has published on the topics of heritage, which includes scientific publications on archaeological finds, and heritage management, and has also taken part in numerous excavations, exhibitions, and conferences.
Her research interests involve digital humanities, contemporary archaeology, the relationship between heritage and communities, and social history.
