Hao Tang started doing research on Chinese ancient bridges under the guidance of his father, Huancheng Tang. Their joint effort lasted for over a decade, and after his father's passing, Hao Tang continued their work. For the past 7 years he and his team have been compiling the "Chinese Bridge History Dictionary", with a total of 23 volumes planned. According to the current administrative regions, they have completed 7 volumes and will eventually complete them all by 2025.
