Gwen P. Bennett
Gwen P. Bennett is Dean emeritus of the Prospect Liberal Arts Honors Colleges in Chongqing and Shanxi, and is currently an Adjunct Professor in the Anthropology Department of McGill University, where she was previously an Associate Professor in the Departments of Anthropology and East Asian Studies. Before that she was an Assistant Professor in the Department of Art History and Archaeology at Washington University in Saint Louis. She received her PhD from the Cotsen Institute of Archaeology at the University of California, Los Angeles. From 1995, Dr. Bennett was a core participant in the first international archaeological collaborations with Chinese partners. She has since accrued many years of field work experience with multinational teams, including large scale regional surveys, and excavations in Shandong and Inner Mongolia. Most recently she has been Principal Investigator for a regional archaeological survey in Sichuan, and for a joint archaeological-historical regional survey in Inner Mongolia. She has published extensively on both Chinese archaeology and Chinese museum practices.
