On June 6, Professor Hilde De Weerdt and Dr. Sunkyu Lee presented the IMMARKUS: Image annotation platform to the Early Modern History Reading Group at KU Leuven.
The presentation showed how historians can use IMMARKUS to (1) collect and organize image collections, (2) create data models, systematically annotate large image sets, and connect annotations to external databases, and (3) query and export metadata and annotations for historical analysis. The session also demonstrated actual case studies and discussed how AI and OCR technologies could be applied for multi-modal historical analysis.
