On November 21 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, Dr. Sunkyu Lee will lead an online session titled “From Images to Data: Digital Annotation with IMMARKUS” as part of the Digital Humanities course Working with Digital Humanities Approaches in East Asian Art History: A Hands-on Workshop at Heidelberg University. Drawing on case studies of infrastructural images, Dr. Lee will discuss what kinds of research questions can and cannot be addressed through image annotation, as well as what forms of analysis become possible once images have been systematically annotated. The session will conclude with a short demonstration of IMMARKUS and a Q&A.
